Ellie & Jason Pre-shoot, Stroud, Gloucestershire

Wedding Pre-shoot GloucestershireIts not often you get to shoot in a rarely seen location so we were really pleased when Ellie and Jason asked for their pre-shoot in an old mill.

The Stroud valleys used to boast upward of 150 active mills in its heyday, but nowadays there are virtually only a handful left by comparison. Many are now re-purposed, but this one hasn’t yet…

But the space and architecture was superb and we hope you like the photos.

The full set can be seen HERE, but you’ll need the password, which is obvious if you know the couple.

Engagement Shoot – Caz & Tom

Caroline (Caz) & Tom obviously lead very busy lives in London and coming down to Bath for their pre-wedding shoot was going to be challenging. So skipping work early on a summers afternoon, they caught the 4pm from Paddington and arrived about 90 minutes later at Bath Spa station.

This was the first time we’d met face-to-face after talking on the phone and via email, and they were as nice in real-life as they had sounded on the phone.

Bath is familiar to Caz as she often visited when she lived in Wiltshire.

I‘d scouted along the quiet side of the River Avon before they arrived, picking out some nice spots by the Kennet and Avon canal lock. But as we headed for the first location, we discovered that half of Bath were now charging towards us. I know its not easy to be photographed at the best of times. But with strangers bustling past? I don’t think so.

So, plan B. Keep walking and talking and hope the throngs would thin.

Eventually they did and with it Caz & Tom relaxed. A friendly local who cares for some of the riverboats saw us doing the shoot and offered the use of the exterior of one of the boats. Some people can be so kind and generous.

Tom had recently damaged his shoulder when a pedestrian had charged out in front of his push-bike in Kensington, so Caz was under strict orders not to exacerbate his condition! Just to keep things even, recently Caz too, had come a cropper on her bike when another cyclist cut-her-up, catching her front wheel. I wondered if I was being told subliminally that they were accident prone?

Still, they both ended the shoot in one piece and we had some glorious evening sun to boot.

Look out for their wedding photos later next month…

Wedding – Naomi & Bobby – Wedding Photographer Gloucestershire

Naomi and Bobby had chosen what is traditionally one of the sunniest and dryest months of the year to get married in – June.

Need we say more?

Thankfully, it was only light drizzle until about 2pm. At that point, the weather, which had been brooding darkly for most of the past 3 months decided now was the time to dump a whole load of water on everyone. And it chucked it down for the next 5 hours. And 7 minutes.

We did manage to get some dry shots beforehand, and remarkably enough, you’d even think it was a summer wedding.

Naomi and Bobby though, took everything in their stride. They were more than happy to go with the flow, and we used the interior of the Stonehouse Court Hotel to good effect during the soggiest parts of the afternoon.

Just when we’d all finally given up on the weather, it miraculously changed into the semblance of a summers evening, and again between more broody clouds, we zipped out and took some lovely shots near the Stonehouse to Stroud canal.

So, we hope that you enjoy these photos, and if you were a guest at the wedding, the photos are now available in the full Gallery HERE using the credentials on the Picture Card given to you at the wedding reception.

Wedding Photography Gloucestershire – Engagement – Louise & Laurence

Wedding Photography Gloucestershire

Louise and Laurences' Engagement by Miranda Stuart Photography

Louise grew up in Stonehouse near the canal. As a former chorister at St Cyr’s Church, it seemed only appropriate that she and Laurence should have their pre-wedding shoot in this area.

So, down to the nitty gritty of the now infamous Miranda Stuart weather phenomena. Yep, there was an extreme frost the morning of the shoot. No surprises there then.

But for just 3 minutes in the afternoon, the sun shone brightly.

Accompanying them were their two small dogs, the aged Jack and the young Ruby. And a couple of swans who really, really wanted us away from their territory.

Their wedding will be at the Hare & Hounds Hotel, Westonbirt, Gloucestershire in May, so come back later to see how their photos look

Here are a few taster photographs … please feel free to comment using the link at the bottom of the page .
